CaMUNews - Drop in global polio paralysis cases linked to vaccines

The number of children paralyzed by polio so far this year has decreased by more than half compared with the same period in 2006, thanks to new and more effective vaccines, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative reports. The campaign's director also pointed to Pakistan's cooperation with Afghanistan as having helped reduced the prevalence of polio in both of those countries, where the disease remained endemic.
