Outcome of Somalia reconciliation conference unclear
Participants and organizers said a long-delayed conference on national reconciliation, aimed at bringing Somalia's warring tribes together to forge a political future for the largely lawless country, has been successful. Critics warned that the meeting would yield few results since it failed to include all competing groups, including the opposition Union of Islamic Courts that briefly took the capital by force earlier this year.
