UN points to energy efficiency as key to climate battle

Making power plants, cars and buildings more energy efficient is key to slowing global warming, the United Nations said Tuesday in a report that was outlined at the ongoing climate change meeting in Vienna. Doing so would come with a steep but necessary price tag, the UN said, noting that it is most cost effective to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in developing countries since rich countries already have taken more measures.
